What to expect

Previous incumbents of the Senior Fellow post have gained huge experience. Averaging between 200 and 250 surgical operations over the period and, in addition, 60 - 70 endovascular procedures.

The Department is collaborative and truly multidiciplinary. Endovascular procedures are frequently performed primarily by surgeons but, equally, there is support volunteered and provided by the Interventional Radiologists when required. Combined endovascular and open procedures are frequently performed in theatre and in the Interventional suite.

There is a ethos of learning and skill acquisition. Trainees and fellows are encouraged to take the opportunity to participate and perform peripheral angiography and progress to radiological intervention as experience increases. The Vascular Lab provides an excellent environment to learn vascular ultrasound from vascular technologists.
